I attribute that accomplishment to Steve Nestor. I made a spreadsheet and began to write down my questions and upload my plans to Steve's google drive, and then scheduled several appointments with Steve for an hour or two at a time.īy the end of November, just four months, I had already designed and completed 41 house plans using Chief Architect. Steve's knowledge of Chief Architect and friendly and fun demeanor changed everything for me. What a relief! My frustration turned into excitement after I met Steve Nestor. I needed some help fast! That is when I bumped into Steve Nestor on the Chief forums. By August, so much work was coming in that I decided to jump into Chief full time but was really feeling the pressure as I was falling behind. I spent the next four months setting things up in the evenings. I purchased Chief Architect in March of 2020. My heart really goes out to anyone who just stepped into this world. I started out spending many hours watching training videos and then back and forth in the forums, and my frustration almost got the best of me. But, to remain competitive in this growing 3D modeling world, I had no choice. Needless to say, the ambition I once held as a young man to learn computers and software was no longer there. I wanted to get into the modeling side of house design to keep up with the trends and found Chief Architect the right fit for me as a residential designer. I have three decades into using CAD software and fully understand the time it takes to learn new software, much less the tips and tricks we learn to make it all work the way we want.
